VIIZR is a software company born out of a collaboration between Ford and Salesforce while I worked as a consultant within Salesforce’s Office of Innovation. Since our launch in April of last year, we have released Desktop and mobile applications designed to fit the needs of small and medium businesses in the trades. I co-lead our design and research practice, which varies widely - this page features work I’ve delivered across many roles with the collaboration and input of many excellent people.

Takeaways + Learnings

Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. You feel this acutely in a startup environment - you have to move fast and not labor over inconsequential decisions.
Advocate for things and people that matter. We’re building the company and culture we want to be a part of, not just a product.
Design is trust. As we look to acquire customers, every touchpoint, every interaction is an opportunity to build or diminish trust. Design plays a massive role in that, beyond just visual execution.

Designing a cohesive experience

As design director for a 1 year old startup, I get to touch a lot of things. I work with teammates across product, customer ops, sales, marketing, and executive leadership to foster a design-led culture and build solutions with a high level of craft across customer and internal touchpoints.
